Kakaumpisa pa lang, susuko na agad?

It’s been said that more than half of new businesses fail within the first year. We don’t have the stats for freelancing businesses but we’ve compiled some of the common reasons why freelancers quit:

#1 Financial issues

#2 Too many rejections

#3 Pressure from family or friends

#4 Lack of discipline

#5 Work-Life Balance

Some of these reasons may come as a surprise, especially #5. it all boils down to expectations vs reality.

For example, when you start working from home, you picture yourself spending more time with the kids and not worrying about work too much. But when you start having multiple clients “work from home” turns to “home becomes work.” Your social interaction also becomes limited so you start dealing with depression and other mental health issues.

What are the other challenges that newbie freelancers face and how can we avoid and overcome them?
