It’s not easy to be different and stand out in today’s modern society.

There are growing awareness and campaigns now for equal rights and treatment.

But discrimination remains rampant and the stigma against coming out is still there.

It takes a lot of guts and effort for members of this community to overcome these obstacles and succeed in their endeavors.

In fact, there are a lot of outstanding figures in the LGBT community who really broke barriers and made history.

They include Geraldine Roman, Walter “Markova” Dempster Jr., and Kevin Balot.

They deserve our respect, recognition, and acceptance.

Meet Dhevie.

He’s an out and proud member of the LGBT community.

He used to work as a hairstylist, make-up artist, and ALS cosmetology instructor.

His motivations for venturing into online freelancing include working from the comfort of home, good salary, and saving for his future.

He faced several rejections in his freelancing journey.

He’s grateful that clients are not discriminative with his lack of educational attainment as long as he can do the work needed or required of him.

He is now enjoying the perks of working as an online freelancer.

No more commuting to work.

More time with his loved ones.

And no more uniforms.

Truly, victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting.

His courage, persistence, and determination led to his breakthrough.
