Are you someone who's not used to doing nothing?

Yung hindi mapakali pag walang ginagawa.

Yung pakiramdam mo kakalawangin ka pag di ka kumilos.

And you need to work because it gives you a sense of worth.

Just like Leony.

She's been into different jobs — office clerk, liaison, encoder.

Mahirap pero go lang sya.

"para kumita at makatulong sa pamilya. I feel obliged to help kahit hindi naman ako inoobliga."

But when her child's condition is at stake...

"Nagkasakit yung anak ko, na dengue, while I was at work.

And because she's not used to it, she looked for other ways to make money.

She even applied a "law" to make her dream a reality — to help her.

Curious to know anong batas to?

Is there such a kind of law?

Find out what happened in this JasSuccess episode replay.

Be moved and inspired by Leony's story.

Notable Quotes

I was attracting those things to happen in my life.
  • So when I started (freelancing), noong time na yun umupo ako, sabi ko Lord, please guide me, parang tinetesting ko yung law of attraction yung time na yun, I close my eyes, sabi ko guide my hands, guide my every click, and I typed “work from home” sabi ko, Lord lead me to the right people who can help me achieve my dreams.
  • I  considered VA Bootcamp as a blessing, kasi noong nalaman ko ang VA Bootcamp nandoon lahat ang sagot sa tanong ko kung paano mag-start.
  • If you are able to help a client, masaya ang client na magbigay sayo, if you deserve for that ibibigay sa’yo.
  • Once you aim something, you have to focus on that, if possible you have to write it down, kaya ang ginawa ko sinulat ko talaga yung 100,000, since sinulat ko siya dinikit ko sa dingding, para una ko siyang makita every morning.
  • If you are true to yourself, if you are delivering the best value, if you are working not just to earn money, if you have the correct mindset, magbabago ang yung ano mo sa life, so you have to deliver great value and everything will follow.
  • Ang totoong pera nasa online, if you’re looking for money nasa online. Walang limit kasi you are marketing the world, the entire world is your market, you have to do business, in fact freelancing is a business, it is not just a job. You have to consider it as a business kasi kung job lang wala, job lang siya, maging limited siya.
  • Sa mga newbie, huwag nating kalimutang tumulong kasi there is power in helping others.
  • Noong I need help nobody has helped me, at yung nangyari sa father ko noon na nadisgrasya, kailangan namin ng pera pero nobody has helped us.
We have to be positive para mangyari.
  • Yun ang nakita kong dahilan (negativity) kung bakit hirap makakuha ng client, wala akong internet, wala akong pang enroll, wala akong… everything is wala, that’s why wala. But if you try to say I have this, you have to convince yourself that you have that ibbigay Niya (God).
  • Instead of asking, anong niche ang gusto mo, you better ask yourself, ano yung pwede kong i-offer? Anong meron ako? Where’s my strengths? You have to focus on your strengths and offer it to a client.
  • We have to claim it, we have it already, just claim it, you have it already.

Journey to Freelancing

  • Because of her big dreams, trying to find out about the emptiness she always felt, she stumbled into VA Bootcamp free tutorials on Youtube.
  • Being a full-time Mum and has no stable internet connection she finds ways how she could study those tutorials although her husband is against her will at that time.
  • Then finally enrolled herself in VA Bootcamp without her husband’s knowledge.
  • Joined the Guided Hustle Challenge.
  • Got her first client in 2 weeks during the GHC and was hired as a Social Media Manager.
  • Niche down to SEO. Because she was a former blogger and wanted to get traffic on her blog.
  • Upgrade her skills about SEO by taking a paid course (JTL)

Question and Answer

May nagtatanong dito Leony, or atat silang malaman, ano ba ang niche mo?

I am an SEO specialist. Kasi business is booming di ba? Dropshipping is booming actually, and we are on online business, we are on online world. Kahit Covid time di ba ang daming naapektuhan?

If you are an SEO alamin mo kung ano i-offer sa client, kunwari ang business kailangan nila ng maraming traffic, traffic is money.

Paano mo na-convert ang sarili mo na purely postive ang iniisip mo kasi so far ang sinasabi is all positive, you have to help people, dapat positive thinking ka lagi. How were you able to convert yourself into that?

Because I have this death experience in my life, so nag-work ako ng nag work, nobody has helped me. I have to make a twist, hindi ko gagayahin kasi wala akong nakitang improvement sa mga taong yun. Why do I have to you know, gagawin yung ginagawa nila kung wala naman akong makitang (mabuti) dapat gayahin sa kanila.

May mga nagtanong din dito Leony, yung journey mo from general VA, could you tell us more how you discovered and decided that SEO is your niche?

OK, since I did blogging pero hindi ako kumita, sabi ng kapatid ko, kailangan mong matutunan ang Search Engine Optimization. Sabi ko why is that? From that alone, sabi ko OK I have to study SEO para magkaroon ako ng traffic sa blog, pero napunta ako sa freelancing. Kaya gusto kong tumulong sa client kasi naramdaman ko din yung feeling na kailangan mo ng traffic, so kung meron kang magawa hindi na maghihintay ang client, they want somebody to help them to optimize their site para makakuha ng traffic, para hindi na sila bayad ng bayad ng FB Ads kasi ang laki ng gastos dun eh, kaya dun na pumasok yung SEO yung pag offer ko ng service sa client. Dun siya nag start lahat.

Ano ang mas mabilis to get traffic SEO or FB Ads?

Kasi ang mahal ng FB Ads, unlike in organic although matagalan siya, but you have to do things right in the first place, i-set up mo lang siya, in 2 months time, you will receive traffic. And wala siyang bayad at tuloy tuloy yung traffic na yun, long term yun at kung makapag ano ka ng auto responder, ipasok mo na din yung sales funnel yung traffic na yun mapunta sa email list mo. So andun yung traffic, andun yung pera sa list.

As long as I have time. Wala na akong gimmick mga ganun, nasa bahay na lang ako but I am happy kasi ginawa ko siya na alam ko to level up my skills at the same time my business. I have that goal, aside from the 6 digit goal, I have another goal. So I have to study, mag business ako, kailangan ko ng i-set up ng maayos para hindi na ako mag-hire ng ibang specialist for my business.

Do you think sometime in the future magkakaroon ka ng time na parang mag iibang pattern ka na naman. Would there be any changes in your life someday?

No. I am satisfied with what I have now. I know that this is just the beginning. There is more to it. There are more opportunities from here. There are a lot of them.  What I am really doing now is to work hard on that, kung magawa ko yan lahat, that’s the fulfillment of everything to me, so wala na akong mahiling. I am doing that not for myself but for my family.

Speaking of family Ms Leony, kanina kasi nasabi mo na may konting struggle din sa husband mo, did not understand what you are doing... Enrolling in VA Bootcamp… How did you manage this to make your husband understand?

Kapag tulog na lalabas ako para mag study, then sabi ko lang, Lord I know when that day comes marelialize niya na tama ako.

I actually said sorry. I did not do that.

Could you tell us briefly about the day and a life of Ms Leony, paano mo ba na manage ang time mo? What do you do? Do you wake up at 4 AM?

I work sa gabi, matulog ako ng hapon. Since I have two clients, I have to start working at around 7:00 in the evening, it’s just a part time so I work 3-4 hours pero yung isa si the one, it is full-time. So I have to start working from 10:00 until 6:00. From that kailangan kong magpahinga, I have do the routine sa bahay, then 1:00 I have to make sure na makatulog pa rin ako ng 8 hours. So you have to balance that.

May follow up na tanong dito, ilang days ka naman po nagwowork in a week?

I worked 5 days a week.
