Notable Quotes:

  • You don't need to see the whole staircase, just need to take the first step.
Mayroon akong something new na nagawa.
Keep on improving yourself so dun din ako humuhugot ng lakas. Tapos binabalikan ko yung mga reasons ko. Kailangan mo icheer up ang sarili mo, Be kind to yourself , damdamin mo then after that move on. Mindset talaga ang isa sa pinaka important set definition of success. Whatever difficulties it is, kailangan maachieve ko yung success. Find support system, be kind to yourself. So icheer up mo lang yung sarili mo kapag may mga rejections.
  • Freelancing does offer a lot of possibilities but success does not happen naman in a snap of a finger na kapag inaral mo yan, okay absorb na lahat. You have to take your time to learn and unlearn things and then strategies and execute tapos be kind to yourself talaga, take one step at a time and be patient to yourself. Your time will come.

  • After she finished her course she decided to join the flip internship and got her first-ever client.
  • She got a client now as an E-com Store developer. And she recovered what she had invested in her first client.

Q&A Highlights

Lahat ba ng pinagdaanan mo, Was it, worth it?

Yes! yes na yes, worth it siya kasi parang ito yung pinag dasal ko before eh na magkaroon ng career, magkaroon ng sariling income kahit nasa bahay while taking care of my kids. So, worth it siya kasi yung investment na sinabi kong hirap na hirap ako before na magdecide din kasi sa dami ng resources kung hindi ako nag enrol nakakalito, so kailangan mo din ng someone na mag guguide sayo. May gabay at step akong sinundan and worth it siya kasi ito yung gusto ko eh lalo na kung may gusto kang marating sa sarili mo, may dreams ka.

What is your definition of success?

For me, success is nagawa ko na yung lahat ng nilagay ko sa mind ko, yung dating imposible na iniisip ko na dati hindi pwede pero ngayon nalagay ko na siya sa mind ko and kapag lahat yun na execute ko na siya, that’s a success for me. Right now, I don’t consider myself as a freelancer, but for me I’m already successful because I was able to get out of my comfort zone, build this career kahit nandito lang ako sa bahay while taking care of my kids. This is already a success for me.

Are you an expert in your field? Ilonah, could you tell us how you manage that?

Inaasses ko yung sarili ko, like una kasi akala ko fit na ako doon and I’m qualified for that, tapos hindi ako makuha. Nirire- asses ko yung sarili ko, okay! gawa ako ng list siguro dito yun sa area na yun and then I find way ulit na maghanap uli ako ng other resources for me to improve naman myself, learn and unlearn na naman ako para ma improve ko na naman sarili ko para mapatunayan ko sa sarili ko na kaya ko to! I can do this! Learning by doing.

What is your final word?

Sa mga audiences natin ngayon gusto ko din magpasalamat sa pag tiyaga na makinig dito sa stories ko, hope I shared something inspiring to keep you moving na, like learn and unlearn yun na yung gusto kong iwan sa inyo na para mag move forward kayo sa pag aaral sa freelancing and strategies, execute, more importantly be patient. Your time will come basta samahan lang ng take action at maging matiyaga lang.
