So you might be wondering about this thing called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). You might have heard it from my own history or from the interview with Jason Dumana or you might have heard it while looking for jobs or from other freelancers out there.

So I just want to take this time to talk to you about what Search Engine Optimization is. Why it's important for businesses. Why they're, why they care about it and why you should care about it too. So to show you a Search Engine Optimization is we're just going to take, do a quick search. So we have Google open here or I can just go to google.com and then we'll do a search. For example let's search for pizza in New York, okay doing a search for pizza in New York let me just change the results to English since it is in Hungarian, okay, remind me later. And these are ads just ignore these for now so SEO is the process of getting ranked higher up here over here in the results. And that's very important for businesses because the higher the rank the more people click on the results. That's a you search for something if you're searching for pizza in New York or pizza in, that's right, pizza in Makati if you were doing something like this most likely you'd click on Gino's Brick Oven Pizza because he's the first one coming up. Or you click on top 10 best pizza place in Makati because that comes up here at the very top so it's very important for businesses because the more people that visit their website the more business they're going to get the more businesses are going to get the more money they make. And it's worth a lot of money to be higher on the search engine rankings.

For example the difference between number one and number two in the rankings are let's go up here number one and number two in the rankings could be as much as ten times so for every if a hundred people with search and then for every 10 that search Motorino Piz are in that click on margarita pizza a hundred are going to click on Gino's Brick Oven  Pizzas you get 10 times more revenue for the business if of course those customers buy.

So it's very important for businesses so why should you care about as a freelancer?

• Well first of all if you want to get in one of the most in-demand industries that's, what SEO is. SEO is very much in demand. If you have if you are good SEO you can charge very higher rates and it's what made me be able to charge a couple thousand dollars in total every month for my clients. It won't make it's what makes Jason  Dumana able to make 200,000 300,000 Pesos a month and a whole lot of other freelancers who focus on SEO. If you're good at SEO you can charge a lot of money.
• Secondly if you're a virtual assistant it's also a very nice skill to add if you're a VA who knows SEO that means you can help your clients with their search engine optimization. You don't even need to be an expert at it or very good at it for that matter. As long as you can help out clients are going to love that.
• Next if you want to get into web design they're two different areas SEO and web design. But if you want to delve or if you want to explore the area of web design, SEO will help you a lot because you can tell your clients that when you develop websites you can make them SEO-friendly meaning friendly to the Google search results that their website will appear higher because of the way that you made the website.
• And also if you are planning to get into online marketing that's also very important because online marketing is of course marketing of the businesses online so that includes SEO that includes Google Ads, Facebook ads, Email Marketing and so on. And SEO is one of the the main factors of online marketing so if you're getting into online marketing understanding SEO is very important.
