If you're still confused about which jobs you can do online, or overwhelmed by the technicalities of skill-based searches, here’s a list of fun, eccentric tasks I found recently on Upwork:

1. TV Show Subtitler

If you enjoy watching TV shows, this is a great work+fun combo for you. Get plus points if you're fluent in another language and can also do translations.

2. Online Private Investigator (a.k.a Professional Stalker)

Is stalking people on Facebook your favorite hobby? Use those research skills to earn some extra income online.

I remember an old job post where the task was stalking the client's girlfriend and taking screenshots of her posts in her other Facebook account.While uncommon, you’ll find different investigative tasks now and then such as this:

3. Comedy Writer

If your friends label you as ‘The Joker’ in the group, that’s a good sign.

Funny people are often witty and creative. If you can use your skills to write entertaining scripts for potentially viral videos, the internet (and your pocket) will be a happier place.

4. Break-Up Adviser

For the ‘hugot’ experts out there, you might want to write content pieces about matters of the heart. Love tips, relationship advices, and dealing with break-ups are popular in the Dating/Relationship niche.

For the foodies who not only love to eat, but also cook and create new recipes, here's something you might enjoy:

7. Voice Talent/Narrator

If singing doesn’t love you, don’t be sad. You still got hope in narration or poetry reading.

8. Childrens’ Book Illustrator or Comic Book Artist

If you're gifted in drawing and character creation, you'll make a great fit with children's book authors or comic book writers.

9. Selfie Model

I typed the word selfie in the job search bar and got this result. So if you’re confidently beautiful and interested in becoming a selfie model, then this is an option.

*Just my opinion: I’m a bit paranoid about selling selfies because they can be used in pornography or other industries that I don’t support. If you’re the same, make sure that you ask the right questions during the interview.

Even though the job post states ‘classy (nothing erotic) selfies’, still clarify where your images will be used and what kind of business the client is in. Better safe than sorry.

10. Game Testers

Wuhoo! Sounds already fun from the job title.

If you’re an avid gamer, you’re the best person to give feedback on a new games’ interface, speed, and usability. You can also spot bugs and send suggestions to their development team. Plus, you'll have some strong excuse to keep playing.
