Relationships are important.

Right or right?

But they aren’t only important in personal life.

As a freelancer, you also need to build relationships with your clients.

Relationship building allows you to get new customers, retain existing ones, and manage your reputation.

And how are you going to do that?

Let me give you 3 tips.

One, this may sound very basic but you should keep up with people. Check-in with those you’ve networked with once in a while. A simple “hello” would mean a lot to others.

Second, never take advantage of people (or specifically your clients). NEVER. And be honest with them as much as possible. Remember that honesty is the key to building trust.

Third, show SINCERE interest in your client’s business. Let them know that you care for their business. But avoid being pretentious.
