Eden had a thriving career in the call center industry. She had been working for 8 years but her life turned around when she had a baby. Since it was not easy to get a Yaya, she stayed at home to take care of her child.

She likes to spend her free time on social media.

She finds scrolling through awesome images and online shopping is relaxing.

Instagram became her outlet to release stress.

When she saw that it's possible to earn dollars online while at home, it got her intrigued.

She chose Instagram Marketing as her line of work as it is aligned with her passion for eye-catching images and online marketing.

At first,  I am frustrated because I don't have any idea about  Instagram Marketing. I don't want to spend money most especially in online lessons to further my skills. But I realized na gusto ko mag grows kahit hindi ko mataas ang rate ko, kasi dun ako masaya, dun ako fulfilled. I'm so happy if they appreciated my post on Instagram, my outlet for stress.  If people want that feed in their own IG accounts, I can help them.

What motivated her to pursue her niche?

My first months demotivated ako because  it's really hard to find a clients.

**Question and Answer**

Q: What was life before freelancing?

I was just a stay at home mom. Further back I was a call center agent for 8 years.

I was already a licensed nurse at that time the population of nurses was already so flooded. Mahirap mag-apply sa hospital. It was during that time nagbabayad kami sa hospital para lang ma-practice ang skills namin.

Ayoko naman maging bum, that time nag-boom ang call center. I started there.

Noong  una nag-calls ako, nakakastress. But it was okay kumikita kasi ako.

Nagtagal ako hanggang sa na-enjoy ko siya.

It was good. I was living on my own. I was independent.

Then I was hitting my 30’s, I think it was time na magka-baby na ako. I decided to have my baby, but I didn’t know na mahirap ang mag-call center na may anak kasi nag-breastfeeding ako.

I was resigned in  call center and became stay at home mom for 1 year. It’s difficult for me. Frustrating for me because all of my life I’ve been earning my own money. But I know deep in myself na I can be more, I can do so much more.

Q: What made you decide to get into freelancing, especially as advertisement ni Jason?

I want to be productive at home. I know I can earn di ko lang alam kung paano. Kaya ko gawin yun mag-earn, kya ko bantayan ang anak ko, and all that. Nag-decide ako mag enroll and aralin ko ito. Hindi siya madali. After the lessons, you have to do the work. I've finished my course, March, nakakuha ako ng client April. That time nadodown na ko kasi everyday naman ako gumagawa ng cover letters. Pero wala ako nakukuha.

Go lang ng Go! Then by  April, nakakuha naman ako ng client.

Q: Talk to me more during that struggle in April na nahirapan ka maghanap ng trabaho, how was that? How did you feel?

It’s like a dead end. I was already checking other options, ano yun magandang niche ko. Then I realized na Instagram. Nagfocus ako on anything Instagram related or social media. So dun ako nagfocus.

Q: How is our situation now? How effective is everything that you have done in the past until now, are you happy being a freelancer?

Yes,  I'm so stressed working in the hospital,  lalo na pag lagi mo iisipin. Tapos dun na umiikot ang mundo mo. Having this freelancing gig somehow balances my day. I like Instagram, and I am learning a lot because of Instagram dahil sa mga ginagawa ko na work. In fact, I still have time to read a book right now, and  study. It’s all about balance and timing.

Q: Instagram, is it something you figured out by yourself?

Sa VA Bootcamp, I've to join once in Instagram related but I want to learn more. I searched for free courses online for Instagram related. Nag-read ng different kinds of articles and recently I enrolled in Instagram Marketing. I want to more skills for boosting me as a freelancer, we have so much potential for growth & you should invest in that. You can never tell, time is short, time is precious so you might as well invest in something that you really want to do.

Q: How was that time noong nagsabay-sabay ang pag-breastfeed mo and pagwo-work mo? How were you able to manage that?

Since I was also into personal growth. I was also doing meditation from what I’ve learned from Vishen Lakhiani. Ang sabi nya first thing you do in the morning, you have to meditate, just to clear up your head, no cellphone, no social media. There was also a time also wherein I was so burned out. Sobrang scattered ang isip ko. Nawawala ako sa focus, I said I should do something about this.

Di naman puro pera pera lang. Buhay din natin to. Kailangan din natin alagaan sarili natin. Our mindset, our health. First thing in the morning, I meditate kahit 10 minutes lang para lang marefresh ka.

Kinompare ko yun performance ko before I was doing that meditation thing First thing in the morning, coffee tapos nakatapat na sa computer, sobrang yun stress level  versus sa 1 hour ako in the morning is to meditate mas nag improve at mas nagkaroon ako ng clarity sa gagawin ko. Focused and and peace of mind  na hindi ako scattered the whole day.

Q.Let’s talk about time management, how were you able to seemingly find a way to manage your time?

Alam ko na gagawin ko in the following day. Kaya pagka gising ko dere-deretso na yon.

Q.How much time do you spend for yourself?

Pero if I have time nagpapa-massage ako. Ito kasi  stress reliever ko. I do it twice a month. I really enjoyed that. Narerelax  ako doon. That’s where I find balance. No matter how simple, kailangan mo siya gawin lalo na sa akin, on the roll every day. and Of course my rest day malaking bagay para akin.

Q: Are you able to achieve that on a weekly basis?

Now, Yes! Since it’s my day off,   is pick up my son then drop him off sa tutor,  that's it!

Q: Do you agree that overthinking is one of our time wasters?

Yes, You know blaming yourself for all the things that  you're not accomplished in a pastis not good. Instead of focusing on the negative, maybe you can do something else with your time. Its either make it productive and enjoy the time.

Q: Any last words Ms. Eden?

First, find your “WHY” … Everything else will follow!

Q&A : (from viewers)

Q: What if plan mo for the day hindi na-fulfill lahat or natapos.

I’ll do something else to fill that time up to be productive. Kung ano hindi ko na-fulfill na tasks gagawin ko the next day. Yun free time na-exchange ko na. Nagawa ko na in advance yun isa. Just make sure to accomplish it. Don’t stress yourself too much sa schedule mo.

Q: Do you also believe in writing down tasks needed to do for the day when you wake up?

Yes, I  have notes on my phone to remind me of the things that  I need to do. Though it’s already in my head, It helps me to do my list every day.

Q: Mga fixed hours ba or hourly ba mga tasks nyo?

Hourly po.
