Notable Quotes:

So dapat talaga mag tiyaga.

Monette’s Journey to Freelancing:

  • She worked in a corporate world for six (6) years.
  • 2015 when she first saw about the VA Bootcamp. She tried applying on her own since she already knew about Odesk and was able to make a profile in Upwork. But due to lack of knowledge about how to apply, create a cover letter, and how to impress the client, she failed to get an online job.
  • It was 2nd quarter of 2016 when she enrolled in VA Bootcamp.
  • She went back to school at  the University of San Jose -Recoletos to get a Bachelor’s Degree. She took up a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource and Development Management course. Since she qualified for a program for employees with five (5) years of work experience, she was able to get her diploma in just one (1) year.
  • After graduation, she focused on applying online and was able to land her first client in Upwork last May 2016.
  • It was at Freelancer.com that she got her first full-time client and finally decided to leave her corporate job last year.

Q&A Highlights

Paano niyo po namamanage yung time working and looking for another client?

Flexi time yung dalawa (2) clients.

When do you realize that you can already leave your corporate job?

When I got a client at Freelancer.com and was able to pass the training period, I talked to my client if he will hire me full-time and if he’s willing to wait because I need to resign in my corporate job. Good thing, the client waited for me for 20 days.

Ano po work niyo with client?

Live chat support.

Product listing upload from Oberlo to Shopify.

Do you recommend to newbies na mas maganda bang aralin on your own itong pag fi-freelancer or kelangan talagang mag enroll sa online na course?

Tapos gusto ko talaga actual, hands on.

English speaking po ba needed?

But as long as nagkaintindihan po kayo ng client walang problema. Okay lang as long as hindi voice call yung ina-applayan mo.

Magkano po monthly income ninyo now?

Yung rate ko po as of now is 8 USD per hour. Pero yung income ko po, it ranges from 40 to 80k per month.

For me, depende yan sa iyo. Yung sa akin is 5 USD.

May free exams po ba sa Freelancer.com?

Madami.
